Welcome to our palace!
Gina Gerald has over 30 years in the cheerleading and dancing industry. '
Gina began her love of cheerleading, tumbling and gymnastics under the direction of current Gymnastics Plus owner Eddie Reso.
It was during this time, Gina studied as a competitive 4 event gymnast in the events of: bars, beam, vault, and her favorite..Floor/TUMBLING. Gina also coached preschool gymnastics beginning at the young age of 13 years old.
As a 1994 graduate of St. Mary's Dominican high school, Gina's career continued as a Dominican Deb from 1990-1994, where she was senior co-captain of her team in 1994.
Gina spent most of her weekday evenings and Friday night's on the football field cheering on the Brother Martin Crusaders.
Not only on the field for Football, she actively participated in basketball games, dance and band competitions.

After graduating in 1994 from St. Mary's Dominican high school, Gina was accepted to the University of New Orleans, where she graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science and a Minor in Math. It was during this time, where she was also a member of the UNO Starlettes Dance Team. Additionally, Gina participated in all UNO Basketball games, March madness, NCAA Championships, New Orleans Saints Games, UDA camps at the University of Alabama and Ole Miss University, marched in numerous New Orleans Mardi Gras parades, and additionally took night tumbling classes under the direction of Gwain Dupree with Crescent City Gymnastics
It was during this time at UNO, in 1998 that Gina was introduced to Janice Bonewitz, while Janice was a Cheer Coach, as Janice shared the same space with her cheer team as Gwain Dupree. Little did Gina know this was a life changing meeting that changed her life forever.
Life continued ...After some time and a long overdue break away from dance, cheer, tumbling, and focusing on the start of a brand new career in software development, Gina was offered an opportunity to be the director of the Jesuit High School Jayettes Dance Team. This all girls dance team consisted of 50 girls from the New Orleans metro area catholic high schools. Including girls from Mt. Carmel Academy, Cabrini High School, Ursuline Academy, Archbishop Chapelle High School, and Dominican High School.
It was during this tenure Gina went back to focusing her weekday evenings, for the next five years on choreography, dance and tumbling, while also participating in numerous dance and tumbling competitions hosted by LSU
Unfortunately, this tenure ended due to Hurricane Katrina and the major impact it had on our area. Hurricane Katrina forced Gina to concentrate more on her technology career, first in Houston, Tx. Her career then continued in Dallas, Tx at the UT Southwestern Medical Center as a decision support analyst. In 2007, Gina moved to Washington D.C. to work for Johns Hopkins Medicine. After some time away, like most New Orleans Citizens, Gina missed home and was blessed with the opportunity to work for the USDA as a software engineer.
While Gina was in the position to achieve her dream job, the economy and other factors led to their own plans of a full government shutdown. During the government shutdown and boredom, Gina searched facebook and came across a posting for a tumbling coach at the New Orleans Outlaws with Janice Bonewitz. Gina and Janice had a chance brief meeting back in 1998 and now the year is 2017!
Janice changed Gina's life forever! Gina started off as Thursday night tumbling coach in an effort to pass the time by during the government shutdown. It was during this time her relationship with Janice quickly grew beyond tumbling into a Cheer coach, and now business owner. Without Janice Bonewitz, this wonderful opportunity would have never happened. For that, Gina is forever grateful!
Circling back, you never know how the people you meet in life will be your blessing along the way. Gina could have never imagined the opportunity that 504 athletics is giving her and she is grateful to teach your "queen" what it takes to be ROYALTY! Come be a part of the PALACE.
